FAQs

Please call or email us for any additional questions.

What services do you provide?

We provide psychological evaluation services, therapy and counseling services, and consultation services.

Families who have questions about their child's strengths and weaknesses and wonder if they meet criteria for a psychological disability or disorder are generally looking for evaluation or testing services. For example, families may want to know if their child has ADHD, autism, a learning disability, depression, anxiety, or developmental delays. A psychological evaluation can answer these questions and guide families towards recommendations for support based on their child's unique profile of strengths and challenges.

Therapy and counseling services are for children/adolescents who may be struggling with daily life. A previous diagnosis or psychological testing is not needed for therapy. Therapy starts with an intake appointment to learn more about the child and their family, determine the recommended treatment programs, and define goals. Therapy sessions are generally weekly or biweekly for 3-4 months, though this can vary case by case.

Consultation services are helpful for families looking for ongoing support following or during the evaluation or therapy process. Dr. Gilchrest can consult with the child's medical providers, teachers and school staff, IEP teams, and other mental health providers.

Do you accept insurance?

No. We are out-of-network with all insurance companies which means that fees are paid for by the client at the time of service. Detailed receipts (i.e., super bills) can be provided so that clients can submit for reimbursement through their insurance company. We recommend calling your insurance company to ask about out-of-network benefits to determine what reimbursement will be. Payments can be made via cash, check, or credit card (with service charge) and are due at time of service.

What are your fees?

Fees vary depending on the service. Please call for a consultation and to receive a fair value estimate for the cost of services.
