Callie Gilchrest, PhD

Licensed Clinical Psychologist / Owner

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and advocate for children with disabilities and their families. I have over 8 years of experience working with youth and their families in outpatient health clinics, teaching hospitals and inpatient settings, and public schools. I was most recently on staff at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital for 4 years providing psychological services to youth and their families.

I specialize in assessment and intervention for neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and specific learning disorders. I also specialize in early childhood development and developmental delays, treating challenging and disruptive behaviors, and consultation with medical and educational providers. My approach is family-centered and individualized. I partner with youth and their families to understand strengths and weaknesses and use evidence-based strategies to support them to reach their goals.

I am an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and International Society for Autism Research (INSAR), having authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders (JADD). I am also committed to the training of future mental health providers, participating in national and local training and mentorship programs for graduate students. I am also a certified Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) therapist.

I was born and raised in South Florida and moved to St. Petersburg in 2020. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and being outdoors.
